Power steering systems are high pressure hydraulic systems that contain a lubricating fluid. This fluid oxidizes over a period of time and loses the ability to lubricate and perform its intended function. Premature wear can cause reduction of the vehicle's steering and a hardening of seals that may cause fluid leakage. This can lead to system failure and unnecessary power steering system component replacement.

ZAK Products power steering system flush products can eliminate these challenges and correct power steering squeal concerns for your customers. ZAK Products offers a one-part application that contains an advanced system conditioner and a two-part application for a complete thorough cleaning that will leave the power steering system fluid crystal clear.

The Problem

Power steering fluid is constantly under duress; up to 500 psi at times. This in turn causes fluid to break down losing its viscosity and ability to protect moving parts. Moisture and condensation also get in the power steering system causing the fluid to break down and deteriorate reducing the fluids ability to protect against wear. This can cause premature failure from the rack and pinion, steering gear, or power steering pump.

When the fluid breaks down from contamination, pressure and heat it loses its ability to keep internal and external seals conditioned. This can cause premature seal failure, which causes power steering fluid leaks from the rack and pinion, steering gear, or power steering pump. This can even cause the power steering hoses to fail.

The Solution

1) First, we back flush all the old deteriorated fluid out of the power steering system. We then put in all new ZAK Power Steering fluid. This replaces 100% of the fluid and prevents premature failure of mechanical moving parts.

2) We then add ZAK Power Steering Conditioner to the power steering system. This conditions internal and external seals and hoses to prevent leaks and premature failures.
